Therapy With Christian

Integrative Psychotherapy and Counselling

My approach is grounded in the concept that every individual is unique, therefore the therapeutic process should be tailored accordingly.

Christian Walters is an integrative and trauma-informed psychotherapist in Hoxton E2

My core training is in Integrative Psychotherapy and Counselling, which enables me to take a holistic approach drawing on a range of both psychological and somatic methods. Rather than applying a one-size-fits-all model, I will tailor our work together to suit your own goals, preferences, and pace, ultimately creating a collaborative and flexible space that supports meaningful, transformational healing and change. Change that has meaning for you.

In our initial sessions, we’ll focus on building a safe, non judgemental space where you can begin to explore and share what’s bringing you to therapy. I’ll invite you to talk about your current challenges, your personal history and what you hope to gain from our work together. Through gentle reflection and open dialogue, we can begin shaping a way forward that feels right for you.

As we move through our work together, we’ll take time to notice patterns, recurring emotions, relationship dynamics and deeper processes that may be playing out beneath the surface. This can help us understand how past experiences might still be influencing your present.

At times, it may feel more helpful to stay with what’s happening in the here and now by tuning into your thoughts, feelings, physical sensations, and the way you relate to yourself and others in the moment. Other times, we may zoom out to explore broader existential questions such as meaning, responsibility, and the choices that shape your life.

Within all of this, I will offer intentional and well supported challenges or interventions to support further insight and change, always in a way that respects your readiness and values.

Regardless of the approach we take, our sessions will remain responsive to what feels most salient, meaningful and relevant to your experience, all within a consistent and supportive therapeutic framework.

I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR) a structured, evidence-based approach that helps process and heal the emotional impact of trauma by guiding the brain to reprocess distressing memories in a safe and structured way.

As a Clinical Complex Trauma Professional (CCTP) I can integrate the innovative approach of Trauma- Informed Stabilisation Treatment [TIST] into our work. TIST is an effective method designed to support greater stability, safety, and internal coherence, particularly for those navigating the impact of trauma.

Alongside my private practice I have worked with a renowned charitable family organisation providing both individual and group therapy. I also have extensive experience working within the Domestic Abuse and Drug & Alcohol Services, and am familiar working in alignment with the 12-Step Recovery programme.

I actively engage in ongoing training and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) to deepen my knowledge and enhance my practice. This ensures I remain current and able to offer support that is informed, ethical and grounded in depth and integrity.

My current area of interest and personal research is focused on developing a deeper understanding of the profound interconnectedness between the mind, brain, and body, recognising this relationship as a vital foundation for overall well-being.

I’m particularly drawn to exploring how our body shapes our emotional experiences and how our mental and emotional states, in turn, influence our physical health.

By engaging with this deep interconnectedness , we can begin to understand how the impact of trauma and attachment related challenges are often held within the body itself. Recognising these embodied imprints opens the door to somatically-informed, evidence based approaches that support the safe release, integration and healing of these internal wounds.

The body most definitely keeps the score!

I am also the founder of Agency, a psychotherapy and counselling practice with a dedicated team of experienced psychotherapists and psychologists, all committed to supporting individuals in overcoming life’s challenges, no matter how complex or simple they may seem.

In addition to my work as a psychotherapist, I bring over 20 + years experience within the fashion industry alongside working as a freelance photographer. My experience has entailed living and working extensively in the United States and Europe.

In my free time, I’m passionate about photography, travel, nature, music, art, reading and open water swimming.

I look forward to hearing from you!
