Therapy and Counselling with Christian
“What’s effective for some, may be less effective for others. It’s about finding out what works best for you.”
My approach is grounded in the concept that every individual is unique, therefore the therapeutic process should be tailored accordingly.
My core training is founded in Integrative Psychotherapy and Counselling, allowing me to draw on a range of both psychological and somatic approaches. Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, I will tailor our work together to support you, with your own goals, preferences, and pace—creating a collaborative and flexible space for transformational change that has meaning for you.
In our initial sessions, we’ll focus on getting to know each other and creating a safe, non-judgmental space for you to explore and share what brings you to therapy. I’ll invite you to talk about your current challenges, personal history, and what you hope to gain from our work together. We’ll also start to get a feel for how we might work best together, through gentle reflection and open questioning, we can begin shaping a way forward that feels meaningful and right for you.
There’s no pressure—we’ll move in a direction and at a pace that feels suitable for you.
As we move through our work together, we’ll take time to notice patterns, recurring emotions, relationship dynamics, and deeper processes that may be playing out beneath the surface. This can help us understand how past experiences might still be influencing your present.
Sometimes, it might feel more helpful to stay with what’s happening right now, by tuning into your thoughts, feelings, physical sensations, and the way you relate to yourself in the moment.
Other times, we may zoom out to explore bigger existential questions—like meaning, freedom, responsibility, and the choices that shape your life.
As a Clinical Complex Trauma Professional (CCTP) I can integrate the innovative approach of Trauma- Informed Stabilisation Treatment [TIST] into our work. TIST is an effective method designed to support greater stability, safety, and internal coherence, particularly for those navigating the impact of trauma.
I am also trained in Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR) a structured, evidence-based approach that helps process and heal the emotional impact of trauma by guiding the brain to reprocess distressing memories in a safe and structured way.
Regardless of the approach we take, our sessions will be responsive to what feels most salient, meaningful, and relevant to your experience, while remaining anchored within a consistent and containing therapeutic framework.
This balance will allow us to work with both spontaneity and structure, creating a space for exploration, reflection and personal growth.

I actively engage in extensive trainings and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) to deepen my knowledge and enhance my practice. This allows me to stay current, ensuring I bring depth, integrity, and informed care to my work.
My current area of interest and personal research is centred on developing a deeper understanding of the profound interconnectedness of the mind, brain, and body— recognising this relationship as a vital foundation for overall well-being.
I’m particularly drawn to exploring how our body shapes our emotional experiences and how our mental and emotional states, in turn, deeply influence our physical health.
By exploring the deep interconnectedness of mind, brain, and body, we can begin to understand how the impact of trauma and attachment-related challenges is often stored within the body itself. Recognising these imprints creates the opportunity to engage with evidence-based, somatically-informed approaches that support the safe release, resolution, and healing of these internal wounds.
The body most definitely keeps the score!
Alongside my private practice I work in a charitable organisation seeing clients from a diverse demographic facing a multitude of concerns. I have lengthy experience working within the Domestic Abuse / Drug and Alcohol Services, and familiar working alongside the 12-Steps Recovery Programme.
In addition to my work as a psychotherapist, I bring over 20+ years experience within the fashion industry alongside working in the creative sector as a photographer. My experience has entailed living and working extensively in the United States and Europe.
In my free time, I’m passionate about photography, music, travel, reading and open water swimming!
